New, well equipped, comfortable apartments about 10 minutes walk from the main village.

Overall Rating

Good quality apartment accommodation at a reasonable price can be hard to come by in France. Village Montana have created warm, comfortable environments that work well for families with a range of different room options, some with open fires. The staff were always extremely friendly and helpful including assisting us with restaurant bookings. It is about a 10 minute walk or via the ski bus to the centre of the village so not ski-in-ski-out, however we never found it to be an issue. The 5-star rating reflects the high standard of the accommodation relative to the price and the quality of service.

Rooms

We have stayed in two different 2-bedroom apartments and both have been excellent although because the complex is set back from the road, the views are mixed. Rooms with open fires are definitely a nice addition if you can secure one. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished and stocked with all the equipment you will need if you decide to do some cooking.

Beds

The beds were warm and comfortable and hard to find fault with.

Food & Beverage

There is no a la carte dining options on-site however you can elect to purchase dining package options at their restaurant. The restaurant looked a bit like a dining hall but it is a convenient option. Since we didn't do this, I can't comment on the food. There is a decent sized supermarket and a pizzeria next door. They also offer a morning delivery of excellent bread and pastries.

Cleanliness

The rooms were cleaned to a high standard when we arrived however, being an apartment they are not cleaned daily unless you pay extra for this service. They do however provide a mid-week towel change and a small cleaning kit.

Service

Warm, friendly and extremely helpful both times we stayed. We appreciated the help with restaurant bookings both before and during our stay.

Location

Not ski-in, ski-out or in the centre of the village so if you have very small children or mobility challenges then this may not be the perfect option. The walk to the village is only about 10 minutes however and the ski bus runs regularly although it can be packed at peak times. Views are mixed with a combination of other apartments and some mountains.

Amenities

Everything you need for a week including if you plan to cook some of your own meals. BYO Nespresso pods for the machine provided. Reception also have a range of items you can borrow if there is something else you need. They also have an indoor swimming-pool, sauna and hammam which didn't get rave reviews from my family however.

Description Accuracy

The accommodation and rooms were as described and no surprises.

Extras

In addition to the spa area, a luggage room and a conveniently located ski room is available. The ski room is reasonably spacious which helps with the morning rush and boot driers are a welcome addition.

Overall value

Good value relative to the quality of the accommodation and relative to other apartment options.

Would I stay again?

Yes, having stayed there twice I wouldn't hesitate to come back again. The only thing that might influence the decision would be the ability to ski to the door.
