A top contender for my world's best lounge award. Come for the Dan Dan noodles alone.

Overall Rating | ![]() | The subtle tones of green marble and brass combined with the serenity of a luxury hotel make this one of the world's best lounges. It's hard to think of what could be improved! |
Lounge Access | Guests traveling First class + 1 guest. Cathay Pacific Marco Polo Diamond status (+2 guests) or One World Emerald status. See website for full details. Open from 5:30-12:30am. | |
Ambience | ![]() | Luxury hotel, private, serene |
Design | ![]() | The clever combination of muted marble, brass and velvet combine to make this a luxury home you'll never want to leave. The carpeted floors and private spaces help to make this a quiet oasis of calm whether you are heading off or heading home. |
Service | ![]() | Friendly, efficient and welcoming as Cathay Pacific usually are. Service is fast and attentive. |
Food | ![]() | Excellent a la carte menu with a good selection of local and international dishes. Food arrives promptly and has never been diappointing. The Dan Dan noodles are worth visiting for alone. The Pantry serves quick snacks and drinks. |
Drinks | ![]() | A full bar service with cold Champagne (of course) and plenty of variety for everything else. |
Seating | ![]() | There are a range of different seating options from private single seats to velvet covered armchairs and low tables. It's relatively easy to find a spot that suits your preferences and it rarely feels crowded. |
Cleanliness | ![]() | Immaculate in my experience. |
Washrooms / Showers | ![]() | Large and beautifully appointed washrooms and showers with Aesop toiletries provided. |
Amenities | ![]() | Complimentary spa services are on offer but can't be pre-booked so its best to arrive with plenty of time to spare if you plan to use them. The Bureau offers quiet work spaces and PCs/Macs if needed. The lounge also offers six private Day Suites with views of the runway. You could stretch out for a nap or just enjoy the view. |
Families | ![]() | Not tested with the family but there's nothing to suggest they wouldn't be welcome. |
Flight Information | ![]() | Flight information is displayed on screens throughout the lounge but they do not call flights so keep a careful eye on the time. |
Gate Access | ![]() | Located near gate 63 so be careful where your flight departs from as it can be up to 25 minutes walk if it's on the other side of the terminal. Keep in mind that Cathay have two first and four business lounges in the terminal so one of those may be more practical. Check the HK Airport map here. |
About Road Warrior ratings:
Ratings are based on first-hand experience in the lounge, usually multiple times.
Lounges are often updated regularly so some of the reviews may become out of date over time. Always check with the airline website for the latest information.
Star ratings are entirely subjective and based on relativities across many of the lounges I've visited around the world.
Always do your own research. Everyone's expectations and experiences are different so treat this review as one data point.
No stars means not applicable or my experience was insufficient to provide a rating.
